Del Sol Administrative Solutions is bridging the gap between Arizona's Healthcare Facilities and the Surgical Assistant Community.
The implementation of the No Surprise Billing Act on January 1, 2022 radically impacted the practice of Surgical Assisting across the nation. The law states that when any medical professional provides services at an in-network facility, ERISA governed insurance companies are only liable to pay in-network rates, with very few exceptions. Furthermore, practitioners providing these services are prohibited from directly billing these patients outside of in network copays and deductibles. While patients are able to negotiate rates with primary surgeons who are not on their insurance plan by signing an Advanced Consent Notice, providers acting in the role of a Surgical Assistant, Assistant at Surgery, or Assistant Surgeon are statutorily precluded from seeking these agreements. Limiting reimbursements to in-network rates significantly reduce the number of available practitioners.
In response to these changes, Del Sol Administrative Solutions has been formed to bridge the gap between insufficient insurance payments, and what it actually costs to provide these services. Del Sol has recently partnered with several hospital systems and smaller surgery centers so the Surgical Assistant community can remain in place and continue to support their facilities and surgeons.
